CARE & MAINTENANCE
Teak Care
Teak is the ideal material for outdoor usage. It is known for its aesthetics, durability, resistance to defects and its ability to withstand the elements. Teak is the ideal material for extreme usage environments.
That said, teak is a natural material that will evolve over time. Under constant sunlight, you may see some oil surfacing and small cracks appearing as your teak furniture is worn by the elements. Over time under rain and sunshine, teak will naturally attain a beautiful silver-grey patina.
Our teak finish is created through a unique process and will age naturally over time. Over seasoned use, the finish will start to fade and expose the natural silvery grey color of aged teak, akin to a non-finished piece. To maintain the original finish and ensure longevity, we recommend that you regularly maintain your teak furniture.
- Dust regularly with soft cloth, following the wood grain
- Should you attempt to clean the furniture, only use mild soap and a slightly damp sponge, then quickly wipe dry
- Avoid using steel wool or wire brushes
- Treating the teak furniture with teak oils is only necessary if you want to preserve the original golden color of teak
- Store indoors or use a furniture cover during extreme weather or winter months
