I believe the best way to make the most of this summer is to spend it with family and friends. Summer is one of the best times to make lasting memories. Since the summer days are longer, they give us more time to spend outside.
Now that the season has arrived, let us make the most of it. Some folks believe that in terms of making the most of the summer, they must engage in extravagant activities. However, I will share with you how to maximize your summer. Here are a few activities that you can engage in to make the most of this summer.
Host an Outdoor Theme Party
Make use of your favorite patio dining set by inviting your family and friends to a luau, a 70s party, a baby reveal party, or host your own costume party. You can dress up, come casual or make it formal. Just enjoy each other, fun games, fresh air, and party-themed food.
Hold an Outdoor Concert
Fortunately, we have a karaoke machine and a lot of space for outdoor barbecues. We add music to enhance the already lively atmosphere in our backyard. It’s almost like going to a free outdoor summer concert. Inviting friends and family over gives a special meaning to our get-togethers. It’s easier to pass the mic with everyone sitting around the sectional and fire pit. What's the point of having a beautiful home and backyard if you can't enjoy them?
Enjoy Storytime Outside
Outdoor story times and concerts take us out of our 9-5 jobs and natural surroundings and bring out our inner child. The time outdoors provides us with an excellent chance to bring dreams to reality through a variety of outdoor activities.
Keep Your Cool
No matter where you live, it’s likely you will experience warm, muggy conditions at some point during the summer months. With that in mind, you shouldn’t put off maximizing your outdoor space until the peak of summer.
Instead of sweating it out, install outdoor ceiling fans to improve airflow and offer relief during outdoor events. Ceiling fans circulate air, so the porch feels cooler. The drop in temperature makes outdoor lounging much more enjoyable. Consider setting up outdoor water or beverage stations to provide guests with a quick and friendly way to hydrate in the heat of the day. Console tables will make this drink station easier to maintain.
Home Office
Why not add some small extras to your outdoor home office? When you add an outdoor kitchen to your patio, you can literally have cool drinks and fresh hot-off-the-grill steak or hamburgers for lunch without leaving your office.
If space and budget allow, install a greenhouse or herb garden, as they can both provide you with a beautiful seating area. The right side tables in a seating area can also offer a place to hold additional office equipment or accessories to brighten your work space.
Take a Nap Outdoors
A sturdy lounge chair on your deck can be your ticket to soothing quiet evenings at home. It can also be your go-to for when you want to take a power nap. If you have a pool, your ideal way to relax and unwind may be a rambunctious afternoon filled with lovely noises and laughter coming from your children or grandkids. However, sunbathing is another way of enjoying your patio even if you don't have a pool. Still, there’s another way to take a snooze.
If you don't already have a porch swing or have a friend who does, I strongly recommend purchasing one from Cambridge Casual. The porch swing is simple to assemble and surprisingly comfortable! It provides a gentle rocking motion as well as sun protection under the covered roof. The porch swing provides hours of comfort and napping.
